It was a rainy and slightly cold day today, so my calico cat, Lily, spent the whole time sleeping. She was also running around late into the night, so that’s another reason. Since she’s nocturnal, this kind of thing happens.

But since she’s an indoor cat, she adjusts to human schedules. I was a bit worried that she might be trying too hard to accommodate us, but she asserts herself when she needs to, so I felt relieved.

Last night, her human mom went out and came home late. Lily still wanted to play with her, so she started meowing in the middle of the night, saying, “Play with me!” We finally went to bed after she got tired from playing.

Today, her human mom is sleepy.

Lily, on the other hand, is sleeping soundly.

I hope she doesn’t start her “Let’s play!” routine in the middle of the night again!
