As T.S. Eliot writes in Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, cats are adorable, yet mysterious, skeptical, and living in a world entirely their own. They have public names, of course, but each cat also possesses a secret name known only to themselves. I sometimes wonder if my own cat girl, Lili, also has a hidden name besides “Lili.”
Such self-centeredness is exactly what makes calico cats so special—and amazing!

At times she purrs sweetly, meowing and rubbing against me like a little flirt. And at other times, she watches the human world from afar, staring intently… almost in a frightening way. She acts cute, yet she carries herself with dignity. When I look at her, I often see hints of Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, or even Yumi Kaoru.
And little by little, the world will become hers!
